The #1 question we get about recessed rubber bumper feet: what screw do I use? Here's the complete answer, based on the recessed screw hole molded into each foot.
Screw size chart by foot
| Foot size (dia x ht) | Screw hole | Use this screw |
|---|---|---|
| 3/4" x 3/8" | #6 | #6 x 3/4" |
| 1" x 1/2" (5/32" hole) | #6 | #6 x 1" |
| 1" x 1/2" (7/32" hole) | #10 | #10 x 1" |
| 1" x 1" | #10 | #10 x 1-1/2" |
| 1-1/2" x 5/8" | #10 | #10 x 1" |
| 1-1/4" x 1-7/8" | #10 | #10 x 2-1/4" |
| 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" | 1/4" | #12 x 2-1/2" |
| 2-1/2" x 2" | 3/8" | 3/8" x 2" lag |
| 3-3/16" x 1-1/4" | 3/8" | 3/8" bolt or lag |
The rule of thumb
Screw length = foot height + at least 1/2" of bite into your material. The built-in metal washer inside the recess does the clamping, so you never need a separate washer - just drive the screw until the head seats on the embedded washer.
