Shop rubber edge trim in U-channel profiles — the push-on rubber edge trim molding that grips raw sheet metal, fiberglass, plywood, and glass edges to protect hands, wires, and finishes. Also called U channel rubber edge trim, edge guard, or edge protector, it installs by simply pressing onto the panel edge; the internal gripping ribs hold it in place, no adhesive required on most materials.

How to choose your edge trim:

  • Channel width (the "U" opening): match your panel thickness — 1/16" for sheet metal and auto body panels, 1/8" for thicker steel and fiberglass, 1/4"+ for plywood and boards. Measure the edge you're covering, not the trim.
  • Material: EPDM rubber edge trim handles outdoor UV, weather, and temperature swings (vehicles, boats, trailers); standard rubber suits indoor machinery, cabinets, and enclosures. See the rubber material guide.
  • Common uses: sheet metal edge protection, truck bed rails and toolbox lids, boat hatches and windshields, machinery guards and electrical enclosures, go-kart and trailer edges, shelving, and DIY projects where a cut edge needs finishing.

Sold by the foot and in longer lengths — buy exactly what your project needs. Sealing a hole instead of an edge? See rubber grommets. Cushioning a corner or surface? See rubber bumper pads. Outfitting a production run? Bulk pricing available.

Rubber edge trim FAQ

What size rubber edge trim do I need?
Measure the thickness of the edge you are covering. That is the slot width to order (1/32", 1/16", 1/8" or 1/4" in stock). The second number in each size is the overall height of the trim.

What is the trim made of?
The U-channel edge trim is black EPDM rubber, rated in the listings for UV, ozone, water and weather resistance.

How is edge trim sold?
By the foot and cut to length: enter the number of feet you need as the quantity (10 = 10 feet).

Is this rubber edge trim for sheet metal?
Yes. The thin 1/32" and 1/16" slots suit sheet metal and panels; 1/8" and 1/4" slots suit thicker panels and boards.

How fast does it ship?
Orders usually ship within 24 hours by UPS or FedEx with tracking from our warehouse in Elgin, South Carolina; orders over $199 ship free to the East & Central US (West Coast, Alaska & Hawaii: free over $399).
