1/2" Rubber Plugs & Hole Stoppers

Every plug on this page is sized for a 1/2" hole. There are two styles. Push-in bumper plugs have a groove that snaps into a hole in sheet metal, plastic or wood paneling, leaving a soft rubber head on the surface. Line-sealing stoppers are solid tapered or straight stems that press into a 1/2" opening such as a tube end, drain port or drilled hole to close it off.

How to pick the right one. Measure the hole itself with calipers, not the part that used to sit in it; a worn plug is usually smaller than the hole. If the hole is in a thin panel, measure the panel thickness too and choose a push-in plug whose groove matches it, so the plug locks in instead of popping out. If you are sealing a tube or a blind hole, use a line-sealing stopper and check how deep the hole is against the stem length. The 31/64" stem stopper is a hair under 1/2" and is handy when a true 1/2" stem is a tight push.
